Rapid Health – Request Help Online

At The Bay Medical Practice, we now use Rapid Health – a secure online system that allows patients aged 16 and over to request help, advice, or support from a GP or clinician, without needing to phone or visit the practice.

This tool replaces eConsult and is designed to help get you the right care, at the right time, based on your medical need.

You can submit requests Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 5:30pm. All requests are reviewed by the clinical team during our opening hours.

What Can You Use Rapid Health For?

You can use Rapid Health to:

  • Request a medical appointment (for patients aged 16+)

  • Ask about new symptoms or an ongoing health concern

  • Submit a question for a doctor, nurse, or the reception team

  • Request sick notes or fit-to-work letters

  • Ask about test results or referral updates

  • Submit an admin request, such as changing your contact details

How Does It Work?

  1. Click the link to access Rapid Health

  2. Select the type of help you need
Choose from medical advice or an admin query (like a sick note or update to your records).

  3. Answer a few short questions
The system will guide you step by step to gather the right information.

  4. Get the outcome
    You may be:

    • Offered an appointment straight away

    • Sent a link to book one yourself

    • Contacted by a clinician

    • Signposted to another service

    • Or your request may be reviewed and managed by the team

What If I Can’t Use the Online Form?

If you’re not able to complete the form yourself, please call us on 01983 862000. One of our Patient Advisors will complete the form with you over the phone. However, the online route is quicker, and the information goes straight to the clinical team.

Important Notes

  • Rapid Health is not for children under 16 or for nursing team appointments (such as blood tests, wound care or vaccinations). Please call the practice for these.

  • Home visit requests should also be made by phone.

Why Use Rapid Health?

  • You get the same service – it’s the same form our team uses

  • No need to wait on the phone

  • Responses are based on clinical urgency – helping you get the right care sooner

  • You can complete it in your own time, from home or work

If you need urgent medical help when the practice is closed, please call NHS 111.
In an emergency (such as chest pain or stroke symptoms), call 999 immediately.
