Rapid Health is Coming – A New Way to Book GP Appointments

We are introducing Rapid Health, a new way for patients to request GP appointments at The Bay Medical Practice. This system will launch on Tuesday, 29th April and aims to make booking appointments quicker, fairer, and more efficient.

What is Rapid Health?

Rapid Health is an online triage system that helps direct patients to the most appropriate clinician within the right timeframe. Instead of waiting in long phone queues, patients can submit a request online at any time during practice hours.

How Does It Work?

✔ Fill out a short online form about your symptoms or medical need.
✔ The system assesses the request and either offers you an appointment or a staff member will contact you with the next steps.
✔ No need to call at 8am – submit a request anytime during opening hours.

Why Are We Making This Change?

Many patients struggle to book appointments due to high demand and the 8am rush. Rapid Health will:
Reduce waiting times by improving appointment scheduling.
Ensure fairer access, prioritising patients based on medical need.
Give patients more control, allowing them to request care at a time that suits them.

What Stays the Same?

📌 Patients who cannot use online services can still call the practice, and a Patient Advisor will complete the form for them.
📌 Rapid Health does NOT apply to:
🚫 Nurse appointments
🚫 Children’s appointments (under 16s)
